It’s been a hectic month this February, but we’re finally able to take a break and share with you a little on what we’ve been up to.
With the launch of our newest designer toy, Rocket Rascals - M, a lot of our time was spent on the production process—not just of these exclusive art toy, but the entire packaging as well. Thanks to the support and experience we’ve gotten over the past year, we have a deeper appreciation of the craft. We’ve also brought some new ideas and techniques into our latest collectible and we’re sure our toy collectors will be very happy with how everything has turned out.
Featuring Rocket Rascals - M along with its beautifully crafted wooden box. Only available at atomtoysstudios.com.
The Rocket Rascals has been a meaningful and fun project that ties our past and present together. The playful and vibrant design is a nod to our childhood, where we’ve spent many hours hunkered down in front of the telly to watch our favourite cartoons. Beyond the fun aesthetic, the Rocket Rascals also dives into our feelings of longing for home. With modern advancements, the world feels smaller and more accessible but especially during tough times, the distance still feels too far away.
We’ll share more about the design and production processes behind Rocket Rascals - M when we can. Be sure to let us know if there’s anything you’re curious to know!

Home’s a tiny speck in the stars, and M can’t help but wonder: how much longer until he gets back?

But let’s be honest, space isn’t all bad. The Rocket Rascals keep it fun—holding on to small joys, big dreams, with plenty of Moxy. They are a reminder that no matter how far we go, there’s always something worth holding onto. That’s the vibe we wanted to capture with Rocket Rascals: M.

Atom’s 1st Solo Gallery Exhibition—Sra. Gallery
Atom Toys Studios debuted its first solo gallery exhibition at Sra. Gallery in Barcelona on 5 December 2024. Featuring exclusive custom designer art toys, including Joy Boy and Miss Bliss in unique, never-before-seen colorways, the event celebrated contemporary collectible art and drew collectors, fans, and renowned artists to Spain's premier designer toy gallery.
On 5 December 2024 at 6pm in the beautiful country of Barcelona, Spain, Atom Toys Studios showcased our first solo gallery exhibition at the Sra. Gallery. Helmed by its delightful owner and director—Sergio Gallegos Luis, the packed show was greeted with a warm reception where guests mingled and spoke to the team behind Atom Toys as we talked about inspirations, processes and personal experiences with art toys.
Snippet of the extensive collection of designer art toy collectibles available at Sra. Gallery.
Sra. Gallery is a special place filled with passion for the contemporary designer art toy scene. Nestled in the middle of a busy street, step closer and you are greeted by a giant figure relaxing by the entrance, as though beckoning you to enter for a fun and relaxing time. Shelves of glass display cases lead you into the outer gallery before opening up to the main space filled with an extensive collection of designer art toys.
Featuring some of the many famous designer toy makers whose works are available at Sra. Gallery
From the works of designer toy legends like Michael Lau and KAWS, popular artists like 6Forest Studio, mcbess, Gary Baseman, to up-and-coming artists in the designer toy scene, the gallery is packed with something for everyone, and one is easily sucked into the vibrant world of collectible art toys. Each visitor is greeted warmly before they are given the space to explore, and are encouraged to ask questions about the designs that drew their attention.
Sra. Gallery is also the first in Spain that is dedicated exclusively to showing the contemporary art of designer art toys and collectibles. Since its inception in early 2024, it steadily grew a strong following and was even featured in TimeOut.
3D mock-up of the exhibition space as we planned how we wanted to display our artworks.
When Sra. Gallery approached us about being their featured artist for December, we readily agreed and began planning the details of our first solo gallery showing. Discussions grew beyond the designs and concepts we are featuring to concrete plans of making it our first ever meet-and-greet event hosted by the entire Atom Toys Studios team.
Custom pieces are available for purchase exclusively at Sra. Gallery (available online).
In honor of the milestone event and to celebrate our partnership with Sra. Gallery, exclusive one-off custom colourways featuring our signature Joy Boy and Miss Bliss design were produced, along with our first large-sized Joy Boy in an exclusive colourway—Overdose.
While there was a good amount of digital sign-ups at our exhibition page, we were genuinely humbled by the huge turn-out during the event. We were even more surprised when some of the artists we’ve followed from the start, like one of the artists behind 6Forest Studio, came to the show and even shared some kind words with us. ❤️
It was a lively event filled with lots of joy and laughter as we talked about designer toys and the creation process.
Many followers also came just to show their support, new collectors and passers-by learnt about us, and we got to make many new friends during this wonderful evening. We thank you all for making the journey down to see us, and we hope you’ve had as much fun as we did hosting you along with Sra. Gallery. 🙏
Behind-The-Scenes: How We Made Our T-Shirts
Discover how Atom Toys Studios crafted the Fun is Fundamental capsule collection with Its Steezy. Featuring premium T-Shirts, screen printing, and wearable art toys, this limited-edition streetwear drop blends creativity and style. Available until November 24, 2024.
We’ve been receiving questions on how we made our T-shirts for our latest project—a streetwear capsule collection with Helsinki-based apparels craftsmaker Its Steezy. Since it’s a long process that’ll take ages to explain, we figured a blogpost would be a better way for us to share the journey with you.
First off, there are tons of techniques available when it comes to shirt printing. Some of the commonly seen methods are Direct-to-film printing (DTF), Direct-to-garment printing (DTG), Dye sublimation (AKA All-Over Printing, or AOP for short) and of course, Screen Printing. When we were playing around with T-shirt designs, we knew that we wanted to go with a limited colour palette, as we wanted a design that was striking yet subtle; easy to pull off in everyday wear. Of all the options available, screen printing made the most sense to us.
Each T-shirt is individually hand screen printed to ensure their the highest quality.
Screen printing involves creating a template known as a stencil, that is made in the shape of your design. These stencils must be created separately for each colour in your design so that when you pass the ink over the stencil, it will only be imprinted where the colour will be. After several rounds of designing, we landed on single-tone designs which made screen printing the best choice for the job.
Since we’re all about designer art toys and collectibles, we wanted to incorporate these elements of play into our very first streetwear fashion collaboration. With the 'Fun is Fundamental' concept, the intent is to remind wearers that fun is a fundamental element in life. Joy nourishes our being, and pierces through dark, dreary periods in our lives.
Close-ups of the wearable art toys, designed to pair with each T-shirt you buy.
We wanted to create a physical charm in the form of wearable art toys that acts as a reminder to the wearer--as you walk, the toy gently taps against your body with its message of fun and positivity, reminding you loosen up and have fun. We tried out different areas to place the wearable copium before landing on the bottom of the T-shirt, which doesn't get in the way of movement and comfort, while also spreading its message of mindfulness.
The design was intentionally made to be practical with a removable clasp so that the clothing can be washed separately. Designer toys and washing machines are NOT friends--be sure to remove the wearable art toy before washing your tees, and gently dab it dry if it's dirty. The removal clasp also means your wearable art toy can accompany you in other ways like your backpack, your belt loop, and any other creative ways you can imagine.
We redesigned our fan-favourite copiums into a more rugged, wearable version and paired them each with one of three available designs. While the baseline design was there, it had to be reworked to make sense for streetwear, and reinforced as they weren't just display pieces anymore.
Close-up look at the ‘Fun is Fundamental’ packaging—inspired by cereal boxes and the free toys that comes with them in our younger days.
A lot of thought was also put into the packaging of the T-shirts. To add to the playfulness of the collection, and also as a nod to the fun we had as children when we poured cereal out to grab the freebie, we sourced for packaging that opened up like a cereal box. That took a while, but with the final packaging design and the box, it was well worth the effort.
As seasoned street fashion makers, Steezy made sure every T-shirt was made using premium quality cotton for supreme comfort. Their years of experience in the apparels game was clear in how they executed our designs onto each piece of clothing, and everything came together to form our first step into the streetwear scene.
Which of the 3 designs is your favourite?
The 'Fun is Fundamental' capsule drop is only available in a limited run, and closes on November 24, 2024.
Make sure you grab your orders quick—orders close in 2 days time.

The "Fun is Fundamental" capsule collection represents Atom Toys Studios' first foray into the streetwear scene, created in collaboration with Helsinki-based apparels craftsmaker Its Steezy. Having met through a mutual friend, we immediately hit it off with our passion for the contemporary street art scene and our journeys to where we are now. Very soon, we found ourselves talking about ideas on what we'd like to do in the street-style fashion arena, and talks became a concrete plan to collaborate on our very first clothing capsule collection.
Behind-the-scenes look into the hand screen printing process that goes into the creation of each tee.
Creating this collection has been a milestone for us. Especially since we're in our first year, stepping into clothing design was both exciting and humbling. From exploring materials to experimenting with styles and cuttings, we’ve had our work cut out for us as we navigated a steep learning curve. Similarly, the Steezy team was being exposed to the designer art toy world. Both worlds were coming together in harmony, and in the chaos came a reimagination on what T-shirts and collectible art toys could be. The final result is something that is fun, unique and packed with flavour—wearable art toys that pair in a playful twist with streetwear essentials.
Featuring 3 brand new original artwork by Atom Toys, each design is available in 3 colours—white, off-white and black.
This capsule collection is titled 'Fun is Fundamental', a blend of our love for designer toys, fashion, nostalgia and a commentary on the world, coming together to bring beauty with meaning. It isn’t just clothing—it’s about a mindset. In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to lose sight of joy and let our routines overshadow the simple pleasures that keep life vibrant. This collection is a gentle nudge to remind you that fun isn’t a luxury or an afterthought. It’s the fundamental spirit that keeps our lives meaningful.
Each T-shirt in the collection comes with its own companion wearable art toy, designed as a charm that moves with you—a small, tactile reminder to loosen up and find moments of delight. Crafted with premium materials and hand screen-printed for durability, these T-shirts are both stylish and practical for daily wear.

What is Atom Lab?
Learn about the meaning behind Atom Lab, and how the team behind Atom Toys Studios has planned this since their inception. Grow a positive community by bringing together artists and collectors and nurture the collectible designer art toys world by spreading joy, one artpiece at a time.
Some followers were curious about the new section that suddenly appeared one day.
Ever wondered why we picked the name 'Atom Toys Studios'? When we first started to think about opening our own studio, we asked ourselves what we were trying to accomplish and how we were going to get to there. A lot of big topics were discussed, but one thing we all agreed early on was what we wanted to do—foster a community that celebrates art, and to promote a positive environment for artists and collectors alike.
To serve as a reminder and to keep an open door on possibilities of working with other creators, we decided to go with the collective term: 'Studios'. Atom Lab, short for Atom Toy Collaborations, is our first step towards this direction.
October 2024 marks the 1st year of our studio, and it is especially meaningful that we can kickstart our first Atom Lab with the works of celebrated artist—Alextsai13. Known for powerful reimaginations of childhood favourites in his signature flavour, Alextsai13's style is chocked full of attitude. Each piece is dynamic and peppered with a blend of street meets diesel punk goodness, often in strong poses. He also features his original character, Bonnie in many of his artworks.
Our first collaboration, titled Gears of Fury is a curated collection of fan favourites of the artist’s work. Together, we worked closely to ensure his vision is brought to life using professional grade premium paper and archival quality ink.
For fans of Alextsai13, don't miss this chance to buy your favourite designs and support the artist. The Gears of War series is now available for purchase in A3 and A4. Grab the complete collection to enjoy your prints at a discounted rate.

Based in New York, Tenacious Toys has been a pillar of the designer art toys scene since 2004. Starting out as collectors, they slowly evolved to fill a growing niche, promoting local and international artists to the toy collectors community. Their efforts helped to bridge designer toy makers with collectors looking for fresh, exciting designs that weren’t mass produced, expanding their website and blog while maintaining a constant presence in the collectible toys scene.
Featuring the packaging art of Joy Boy and Miss Bliss.
Passion attracts passion, and after a very spirited discussion, we both agreed that Joy Boy and Miss Bliss have got to be hitting NYCC ‘24. Since Miss Bliss was still heavy in production, the timeline was tight — but with an ungodly amount of hard work, we were able to complete both Miss Bliss ‘The OG’ and ‘Retro’, along with the full range of magnetic copiums ready just in time for the event. 😴

How to Verify the Authenticity of Your Miss Bliss Designer Toy?
Learn how to verify the authenticity of your brand new collectible designer art toy from Atom Toys Studios with this guide on how to check using the designs included in your brand new art toy.
Have peace of mind knowing that you own a 100% certified Atom Toys Original limited edition Miss Bliss in your art toy collection!
So you’re looking to purchase your very own limited edition Miss Bliss designer toy from Atom Toys Studios. Maybe your favorite Atom Toys pieces were sold out and you’re having to buy it from another collector or shop instead. Is there any way to be sure that you’re getting a 100% certified Atom Toys original?
To protect our collectors, we’ve added several ways to help you verify the authenticity of your brand new collectible art toy and give you peace of mind. 😇
Here are a few simple steps to ensure that you’re adding a legitimate Miss Bliss to your art toy collection:
Step 1: Look for the Certificate of Authenticity
Every original Miss Bliss designer toy will come with its own Certificate of Authenticity. It features a beautiful 3D rendering of Miss Bliss on its front page. Flipping it over, you will see a description of the series and an explanation of how Miss Bliss tackles the dreary moments in her life.
In addition to the writing, you will see 3 unique identifiers to authenticate your Miss Bliss.
Serial Number
A unique serial number is generated for each limited edition piece released by Atom Toys. No two figures will contain the same serial number, and every unique code is recorded in our internal database so we can help you with the verification process.
Artist’s Signature
The artist’s name, along with their signature will be included. This is included at the bottom of the card.
Collection Number
On the top of the card, the Miss Bliss colorway is included, along with its collection number (e.g. 1/50, the first piece from a limited run of fifty pieces produced). You can also double-check this number against the one written on the designer toy figure.
Step 2: Find the Logo and Collection Number
All authentic Miss Bliss pieces will feature the official Atom Toys Studios logo across both feet. The logos should be perfectly imprinted directly onto the resin figure, and matches the official branding featured in all original Atom Toys Studios products.
The collection number of your Miss Bliss will also be written on its foot. You can double-check to ensure that the numbers on Miss Bliss and the Certificate of Authenticity match up!
Step 3: Triple-check by verifying with the Atom Toys team
For additional assurance that your pieces are authentic, you can snap pictures of your Miss Bliss and send them to us for further verification. Make sure that your pictures include the important points written above, in high quality, so that we can speed up the verification process.
Additional Note: Make sure that any communications with Atom Toys Studios are from our official social media pages.
Why Verification is Important for Designer Toy Collectors and Art Toy Makers
Verifying your precious designer toys is important! By ensuring that your pieces are originals, you are preserving the increasing value of your art toy collection and maintaining its authenticity. With a growing popularity in the exclusive designer toy scene, serious collectors hold great value in original pieces that come straight from their toy makers.
Buying original designer toys also shows your appreciation for the hard work and creativity that goes behind making these one-of-a-kind figures that are painstakingly produced in small batches. Show your support for the designer toys scene and help your favorite artists grow so they can continue crafting exquisite collectibles that make your heart race.

Toy Design Journal: Bringing Miss Bliss to Life
Discover how to create a designer art toy with this guide featuring Miss Bliss. Key steps include concept development, 3D prototyping, sanding, silicone molding and painting. Learn to assemble the parts and design impactful packaging for a memorable unboxing experience. Perfect for beginners and seasoned creators, these steps will help bring your unique toy vision to life!
After months of hard work, we're finally ready: production of Miss Bliss is complete and ready to go! Pre-orders are steadily being shipped out from our studio and the official launch is on 30 Sep 2024.
Throughout this journey, we've had the chance to connect with so many wonderful people across the world who shared their love for our designs and concept. To those of you who are curious about our art toy-making process, here's a guide into our design and production process behind Miss Bliss.
Step 1: Concept is King
The difference between a good design and a great design is intent. While we already have a strong core concept for this series, it's important to understand what we are trying to embody with Miss Bliss - the urge to escape from reality as a means to recharge.
Step 2: Shapely Silhouette
With a clear motivation, we narrowed down visual elements that symbolizes escapism, then narrowed it down further by letting our audience pick which design they resonated with the most, emotionally and aesthetically.
Another important factor is to make sure your design makes sense from a production standpoint - how will these parts come together to achieve visual appeal and structural integrity?
Step 3: Prototyping Perfection
Once preparations are ready, it's time to 3D print the parts using our trusty Elegoo Saturn 2. Prototyping helps make sure that the toy's size, weight and dimensions work well in real-world. It also lets us spot any potential weakness and to strengthen the design.
Step 4. Sand Down, Prime Up
Now that the design work is complete, the next step is to sand the pieces to remove imperfections. Sanding helps to achieve a polished, even surface. Primer is then applied to ensure that each piece is smooth, clean and consistent.
Step 5. Mastering the Mold
The pieces fit perfectly and the surface is primed - we're now ready to do casting. A silicon mold is made from the 'seeds' to create precise replicas of the individual pieces. Once the molds are complete, production kicks into high gear as we use a combination of resin and hardener to cast the pieces. Since these are copies of the 'seeds', each cast requires minimal sanding and priming.
Step 6. Painting Magic
Painting brings life to the figure. Each part is painted in layers, building depth and enhancing the design. Careful attention is given to prop up the pieces in hidden areas so as not to affect the final paint job. Miss Bliss required multiple coats and precise detailing to ensure the color palette was vibrant and true to the concept.
Step 7. Final Form
Once painted, each piece is carefully assembled. This stage requires precision to ensure that all parts fit seamlessly together with the perfect amount of adhesive. The final assembly showcases the full vision of the character, bringing our latest designer art toy to life.
Step 8. Up Your Packaging Game
Thoughtful packaging elevates the entire experience. It's important to look at it from the collector's perspective when designing the packaging - how do you give the best visual treat to your audience, and what will the unboxing experience be like? Would it catch your attention if it was on a shelf?
Creating designer art toys is a long and intricate process that requires tons of planning, attention to detail, creativity and grit. It is also one of the most rewarding and meaningful journeys we have undertaken creatively. We hope our sharing helps you on your journey!
Miss Bliss comes in two unique colourways: ‘The OG’, and ‘Retro’. It features magnetic copiums for added customizability. Learn more about the concept and explore our range of designer toys and fine art prints today.
Create Your Own Designer Toy : Creation Joy Boy
"Explore the step-by-step process of creating the Joy Boy designer toy, from initial concept and 3D printing to painting and final assembly. Learn the craftsmanship and creativity that goes into bringing a unique art toy to life at Atom Toys Studios."
1. Concept & Design
The design process for Joy Boy starts with a lot of back-and-forth, sketching different ideas and refining the look and feel until it’s just right. I focus on the character’s expression, proportions, and details, ensuring everything works together to give Joy Boy a distinct personality. Every element, from the pose to the intricate features, must harmonize to create a collectible piece with emotional depth.Beyond aesthetics, the design explores the idea of the void—those moments of emptiness we all feel. Joy Boy represents the tangible, material side of coping with the void, much like how we fill gaps in our lives with possessions.
2. 3D Printing
Once the design is set, I move on to 3D printing. This stage allows me to test the scale and proportions of the figure in real life. A small-scale model is printed, and I evaluate whether the dimensions and details hold up as a physical object. If something feels off, it’s back to the drawing board. Testing the figure's size ensures that every element, from the smallest detail to the overall structure, is perfect before proceeding.
3. Breaking into Parts
After the scale is approved, I break the figure down into individual parts. This step is crucial because each part corresponds to a different color or material. Breaking down the design helps in creating clean, crisp color separations and easier assembly later on. The parts must fit together precisely, so I take extra care to ensure that every section can be cast and painted separately without compromising the figure’s final look.
4. Painting
With the parts cast and cleaned, it’s time for painting. I apply multiple coats of paint to each part. I focus on color accuracy and smooth finishes, layering the paint carefully to ensure even coverage. Depending on the design, I may add shading or highlights to give the figure more depth. Painting is where Joy Boy truly starts to come to life.
5. Assembling
Finally, after all the parts are painted, I assemble them using high-quality glue. Each piece is carefully fitted together, ensuring that the joints are secure and the figure is stable. The assembly process requires precision, as the alignment of each part affects the overall look of the toy. Once assembled, Joy Boy is ready to be packaged and enjoyed, representing the culmination of weeks of hard work and attention to detail.

Miss Bliss: A New Dimension in the Exploration of Void Series
Introducing the latest addition to the exploration of void series: Miss Bliss.

While Joy Boy explores how we fill our void with material things, Miss Bliss captures the essence of how we distract ourselves from the void by seeking means of escape.
Miss Bliss comes with a new feature of a magnetic copium. This allows collectors to change out the nature copium with any one of the 4 other copiums that are sold separately: book, music, art and games! Customize your Miss Bliss to reflect your preferred means of escape, making this art toy a mirror of your inner psyche.
Don't miss your chance to add this unique piece of art toy to your collection so others can resonate with your personal journey of escapism.

Comic Con Post
We're now two days away from attending our first ever physical appearance — Atom Toys Studios will be participating in Heroes Comic Con Finland!
Since we received the official confirmation that we were going to be exhibitors at Comic Con, it's been all hands on deck to plan and prepare the best experience we can for our visitors. We requested for a space at the Artist Alley, which covers a wide variety of really cool artists across various trades and styles. While the space will be on a first come, first served basis, each area will consist of a table, chairs, wall space and charging spots for us to get comfortable.
Situated somewhere along Artist Alley, Lane F
Being first-time exhibitors, we did not realise the amount of administrative challenges that goes into planning a nice, spotless and cohesive space to display our collection. We asked around and did our research before narrowing down our equipment needs to: table cloth, signages, business cards, product stocks, grids, S-hooks, blu-tack, scissors, tape, and our trusty iPad.
3 full luggages’ worth of supplies
Now that we've had our base design covered, we needed to figure out how to properly arrange our goods to be easily visible for our visitors. Boxes could keep the pieces safe, but reduce the viewing angles. Tiered racks are useful, but could also take up too much of our precious desk space. We experimented with different display configurations until we finally landed on the final layout.
Sneak Peek of our final layout
We also needed to ramp up production to make sure we had enough stocks for our con run. A lot of discussions also went into how we could interact with the audiences, share the inspiration behind our art pieces and introduce new audiences to the world of Art Toys. To help with the inauguration, we worked on a video that shares our production processes and printed a batch of stickers which we will be offering to new visitors and followers.
We don't exactly know what to expect at the venue, but we've done our best to make it a great experience for anyone who's stopping by. Our artist, Nigel Goh will also be present at the event for any fans or visitors interested to learn more about the design inspirations behind our works, or to ask for an autograph.
For those of you attending Comic Con Finland, make sure you stop by and say hi! We would love to finally meet some of you in person!
We're about to head over to the convention venue now.
See you there.
Sincerely,
Team Atom
2024 Resolution…
It's 2024!
6 months flew by since we first started Atom Toys Studios in July 2023.
What started as a fun personal project among a group of artists has grown into a budding studio - all thanks to the support of a warming and loving community. To know that our concept and design connected with people from different parts of the world is truly an amazing and humbling experience, and one that gave us the courage to dream a little bigger.
We spent the end of last year in deep discussions on what we would like to do in 2024. For now, let's just say - we have a lot of work to do this year, but it's a journey we are very excited to take.
Our most immediate plans were to completely produce all 100 pieces of Joy Boy in 'The OG' colourway. While we had originally wanted to produce them in 4 smaller batches, we decided to make all 100 pieces so we can shorten the time it takes for our collectors to receive their art toy.
From now on, Joy Boy 'The OG' will be shipped out within 14 days of your order!
If you have been following us on Instagram, you will also notice that we are actively working on the first of our smaller range of art toys: Joy Boy Minis.
This is an important first step for us in making our art toys more accessible to our collectors.
We are planning to release Joy Boy Minis in 3 colours first, so let us know which are your top 3 picks on Instagram!
Joy Boy Minis will be available in the next couple of months, so please look forward to it!
We are also working on some new stuff for the later half of the year, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. More will be revealed in time. 😉
Until then, here's wishing everyone a happy and fruitful 2024!
Sincerely,
Team Atom.
